Superpinion 505 structural locking system for front sprocket
The front sprocket has been redesigned to work with a dedicated structural element — cap — giving life to a locking system different from the traditional one based on pin and washer.
This is its technical identity: not a simple replacement part, but a proprietary solution designed for those who seek mechanical substance, reliability and functional consistency.
The structural principle of the system is based on axial locking with geometric constraint, achieved by means of a case-hardened structural element — cap. This configuration allows a more controlled distribution of the load and contributes, over time, to reducing radial and axial micro-movements between the front sprocket and the output shaft.
Superpinion 505 was not born to oppose what already exists, but to offer a concrete solution, developed on the basis of experience, comparison with customers and a precise technical vision.
It is the first development of the emerging 500 Series, a line of products built around the same philosophy: transforming experience, listening and competence into proprietary, useful and credible solutions for those who truly live the motorcycle.
When the splines of the output shaft are intact, Superpinion 505 optimizes the locking between front sprocket and shaft. When, instead, the splines are already worn but still recoverable, the system contributes to restoring a functional coupling, reducing operational play and bringing the front sprocket back to working in conditions comparable to the original ones, with the objective of prolonging the useful life of the output shaft.

Specifications
STRUCTURAL PRINCIPLE
The system provides for:
- axial locking with geometric constraint by means of a case-hardened structural element — cap;
- controlled distribution of the load;
- reduction of radial and axial micro-movements over time.
MATERIALS
- Front sprocket and structural locking element: 18NiCrMo5 alloy steel, compliant with UNI EN 10084, subjected to case-hardening treatment. Nickel-chromium-molybdenum steel with high mechanical strength.
- Screws: M6x16, class 10.9, with anti-corrosion treatment — zinc flake coating — and safety knurling.
CASE HARDENING
Thermochemical treatment that increases surface hardness while maintaining a structurally tough core.
